When will new date(s) be announced?
As you can imagine with the uncertainty of things, we are aren’t able to give any ideas as of yet but. We can ensure you that we are currently working with venues, stakeholders, sponsors as well as other large race organizations in the area to ensure that the rescheduled dates work best for as many people as possible.
How will my deferral credit work?
Once we are able to set a date for the event we are rescheduling, you will AUTOMATICALLY be entered into the event. If you cannot make that date, we will then offer a credit value in the amount that was paid. This credit can be used for a similar event anytime in 2020, 2021 or 2022.
Are refunds allowed?
Great question. Short answer is no as our race related expenses start to occur January 1st of each race season. These expenses include things like venue deposits, race equipment, logistical equipment, supplies, year round personnel, marketing / advertising, finisherswag, and more. We do our best to ensure that our prices are always the lowest in the OCR space and this is accomplished by budgeting & planning well ahead of each event.
How do deferrals cost race companies money?
As easy as deferrals seem to be for participants, they are anything but for race organizers. As race budgets are set and monies spent based on targeted numbers, any deferral amount already has a large portion of the original registration fee committed for the year. In most if not all cases,a deferred race ends up costing a race company at least twice the budgeted cost per person. Despite this, we are are offering full value deferral credits to all of our participants.
Why is the Calgary Sprint / Titan weekend being postponed so early?
While the recent City of Calgary cancellation of large events only technically applies to events taking place on city owned lands, we do not feel that it is responsible to keep those dates any longer. The safety and well-being of our participants, volunteers, team members and spectators remains our top priority. We are working with the venue, stakeholders, sponsors as well as other large race organizations in the area to ensure that the rescheduled weekend works best for as many people as possible.
